The aim of the Jackson Scholars Program is to introduce selected students to public history work through leadership in community events, office and archival management, life skills and college preparation, and audio/visual documentary training. Each internship is available for one semester.
Scholars are expected to maintain a regular schedule of approximately 6 hours per week at the Center; complete designated tasks; participate in reflection and leadership opportunities; and develop a portfolio documenting a special focus for the semester. At the successful completion of each scholar’s commitment to the Center, he/she will be offered recognition for unique service to the community and a small honorarium.
