The Jackson Center offers interactive civil rights, local and oral history workshops for k-12 classrooms. The curricula have been developed using our archive of over 200 oral histories, historical materials, and the incredible leadership, support, and participation of dozens of lifetime residents who share their own experiences and lessons with young people.

To find out how to sign up for a workshop, please contact Yvonne Cleveland at

All of our workshops conclude with youth participants creating and sharing their own reflections through artistic pieces, speeches, and songs.
